We are very happy to announce that we have been invited to pitch Room4talk next week at the AFRICA WEB FESTIVAL (AWF) in Abidjan!
Our schedule in a nutshell:
* Attendance at the AWF
* Several meetings with Ivorian Ministers
* Visit to the VITIB Technology Park, Africa’s “Silicon Valley”
* Visit to the Ivory Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry
* Visit to JOKKOLABS, a startups network with 10,000 members from 12 African countries.
... and much more!
Our action packed schedule will take us to the heart of a region that is currently experiencing rapid growth. According to the latest “Global Economic Perspectives” biannual report, the Ivory Coast should experience growth of 8.5% in 2016, after an annual growth of 9.3% between 2012 and 2015. It is now one of the flagship nations for development on the African continent.
The capital of the Ivory Coast, Abidjan, will welcome the Africa Web Festival for the third year in a row. The choice of the Ivory Coast to host the 1st African French Tech hub can be attributed to a strong dynamic in Abidjan, which has helped foster the development of local startups. The capital also offers a warm welcome to foreign companies, which will stimulate the local economy.
=> Description of the 2016 AWF project
French Tech Bordeaux is bringing together the startup ecosystems in Abidjan and Bordeaux within the context of the certification of the French Tech Hub of Abidjan by the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance at the beginning of 2016.
The Bordeaux startups’ first collective mission in the Ivory Coast has been proposed in order to meet these two goals:
We’d like to thank Kedge Business School and the city of Bordeaux especially for giving us this unique opportunity to fly to Africa!
We will keep you posted on what happens next! ;)
